OK after all the confusion I'm glad that it's working out in the end

Not everyone's participation for the reveil which was optional anyway so I sent out all the ones that were received so everyone should receive them shortly if not already.

Also a HUGE thank you for the surprise RAK markers some included and to my pals.. I love them all and boy are lots of you very talented...

i dont' mind doing another swap but will promise to keep it very simple without any confusion will post more info to the blog soon!

A special thanks to Jenn for jumping in and helping when I got to far behind had 2 minor cirisis over the past couple weeks DS knocked out cold with a bad concusion and my DD in an accident and rushed tot the hospital by ambulance. hopefully the thrid will not follow anytime soon!!! Life is strating to get back to somewhat noramlity this week... Children are feeling better

I haven't heard anyone say they didn't recieve theres. I've been emailing people and the responses so far were that they have them but hadn't upload to their blogs yet or some thank you and I forward theat on to the appropreiate people because they didn't have blogs. So don't worry just yet, it's only mid month some went out late I hear and remember this was opened internationally as well. So please allow a bit more time to reach you. Some are posting to the knitty thread that can be found here to say thank you but not all poeple are part of knitty

Please remember some did say they apologize but they sent theirs out late. Please make sure that there ALL in the mail NOW! If not get them in the mail now! I'm not going to hold everyone's hand here it's getting to be ridicolous the amount of email that I get. If people aren't recieving there markers by a certian date I will drop them and fill in with replacements and I will post your names with the shipments haven't been received I will NOT play games. With only a couple exceptions overseas everyone should have there markers long before the end of the month!
Flakers will NOT be tolerated at all and it's NOT fair to all those who do sign up and furfill their obligation and others shouldn't be depreived for those who don't.

So far I do have a list that I'm watching closly and will keep watching. If I don't hear something within a reasonable amount of time then will take action from there. WE do have some sweet people who've offered to be an angel and fill in to pick up the slack where others don't . If your thinking or would like to be on the angel list in case of bad swappers/flakers please contact me,

Remember you know the commitment before you joined and should've of thought about it before signing up so please continue to be responsible it's not much and doesn't take alot of effort here.

On a more positive note looks las though things are going along very well for the most part. I do hope everyone is enjoying sending as much as receiving there markers. Isnt' mail just fun! Don't let the very few people spoil the rest of everyone's fun.
By the end you will have at the very least the amount of markers you sign up for or more. can't wait to see people markers at the end the whole stash....LOL

Revieling at the end!? Future swaps or not?

I don't know what to tell y'all if you don't want to don't! It's very simple No need to stress out. This was meant for a little fun and based on the majority of everyone's responses to early questions reguarding it. It's not a big deal I will however still include everyone that does participate if someone's missing there loss.

I will NOT figure out who didn't participate and not include themselves, that's up to you. I will mail out all those that I recieve only.

I am thinking that after this swap is closed that I may reconsider continuing future ones! I will see this to the end, not to worry.......I will keep a list if someone else wants to take it over. I have everything saved. Please contact me private about it.

As promised I have something fun planned but I do need all of your help to do this!
Everyone should've recived a separte email actually 2 about this already.

I need you to send me one self addressed stamped 5x7 or 4x6 envelope and include inside your name, info, blog/page address if you have them.

one for each person you send out. If you send out 1, 2 or 3 packs per month

then you have 3, 6, or 9 SPs correct so included with a self addressed envelope to me should be your clues or info 3, 6 or 9 times.

You'll be recieving back your self addressed envelope with your Sp reveiling who they are you'll have 3, 6 or 9 puzzles and/or clues to figure them out...

Then you can either have 3 clues included, or write your info on paper or cardstock make sure it's big enough to be cut around letters and stuff so it'd be a puzzle that the other person has to put together to reveil yourself or into letters or pieces of info that needs to be descrambled to figure out who you are.
Keep each separate in little baggies or paper cliped.

Then I'd separate them into each persons return envelope of each sender by each month and will mail them out all together

I've done these things before and it can been lots of fun! You can send however you want as easy or hard as you like.

Please send them by Sept.2st for me so I can have the time to separate and match them to each person.

If you already sent out your before this thats ok still please include for this anyway!

I'm sorry I can not accept anymore late signups it's been offically closed now so I can get all the swap partners sent out to everyone now!

This is getting exciting now! WE have 61 participants now! WOW~!! After some re-ajustments and such.. I've done some calculations for you! 61 SP 8. 472 stitch markers will be sent out each month!! wooohoooo!! A total of 1416 markers between Aug, Sept & Oct!!! How neat is that!?

Just a reminder that as soon as you recieve your email for the swap you can start mailing your first months packages out then. they are all due to be mailed by the 5th of each month. You can check out your SP blog or pages if none was available hopefully I sent all info to you. If I haven't I never recived it so please contact me asap! Each package or envelope should include 1 set of 4 markers for each person.
Remember if you haven't posted your questionaires to do so now!

Ok will be out of town and will get everyone there SP by the end of next week. So if you don't receive an email by them please contact me. A couple people had to back out so I've had to rearrange a few things so reminder to let people know that Monday July 25th midnight will be the last chance for anyone to sign up. I do send out a confirmation to everyone that I have signed up and your listed in the side bar participant list.

One more reminder that if you have a blog listed please place your questionaires on them by the last day of July....Your swap partners will be checking them out because all the first round of packages are due to be mailed by between Aug 1st and Aug 5th.

If you do NOT have a blog please email them to me ASAP and make sure you put questionaire into the subject line so I know where to place yours. Thay are also all DUE by July 25th as well. I'm still missing some!?

Where now at 52 SP!!!!! WOOHOOO!!! Can you imagine 400 stitch markers going out each month for the next 3 months!!!! WOW!! So exciting~! Mail is going to be good thats for sure!

Guide to Stitch Markers

A Guide to Stitch Markers!

Here's a DIY Tutorial on how to make your own stitch markers. Its a lot simpler than you think!

1. Materials!

1. Pliers: You probably have some of these laying around your house. If not check out a hardware store for the best deal. Try to get smooth pliers, with NO teeth! The teeth may be nice for grabbing, but it will marr your wire and potentially snag your knitting! (You could get jewelry pliers like I have, but they're pricey for a little DIY project. )

2. Wire cutters: These are optional, and most pliers will probably have them on the inside of the jaws anyway.

3. Wire: You can buy a coil of wire at the hardware store or wire posts from the jewelry area of the craft store. You can loop the end of regular wire very tightly at one end to imitate the end of the post and keep your beads on the wire if you go that route. They are also sold with the loop on the end. This part is up to you. You can also use jump rings along with the wire for a more uniform stitch marker size.

4. Pen or pencil: If you don't use jump rings, this is to help with the uniformity of the loop on your stitch marker. The bigger the pencil or pen the larger your stitch markers will be. (Sharpies and markers work nice for larger stitch markers, but the posts might not be long enough. So a coil of wire will work best.)

5. Beads! : Go nuts for this! I use seed beads at the bottom with larger beads on top. But you can do whatever you like. Joann Fabrics has a lot of really nice beads for very cheap. They also carry nice crystal beads that are a little pricier, but well worth it. Browse the bead section until you fall in love with something!

Hello Ladies & Gents!

Welcome to our first stitch marker swap. I hope that it will be successful with lots of participants. Please forward the information onto your friends. other bloggers, knitters, crocheters and any others.

The sign ups begin! Open until July 24th Midnight EST! Have posted a clok onthe top on the lighthouse for your convienence

Please send along the following information in be offically signed up.

Email your name, address & blog address if you have one. (not mandatory) and how many Sp partners you'd like to:

you send your swap partner 4 st markers each month for 3 consecutive months
They can be any color, anyway, beaded, wired, so lets see how creative everyone can be. In total you would recieve 12 markers and send out 12 markers
Since everyone makes different styles, colors, they're all unique. Can be small or even larger sized to fit needles 17 up tp 36 even whatever your heart desires.

All packages need to be shipped buy the 5th of each month. This will be open worldwide. Shipping will cost less for everyone!

***Please note to make this even more fun ~ your partner that you ship to may change each month and is not the same person that is shipping to you. Now we wouldn't want you to figure out who it is to soon now would we!

Questionaire will be posted soon for all to fill out and post on your blog if you don't have a blog not to worry email it to me and I'll forwadr it to your swap person or persons

A little twist to this, you can as many as 3 Sp MAX! So you'd send out 3 packages per month and receive 3 packages per month. So you can sign up for 1, 2 or 3 secret pals. 1 is total 12 markers, 1 is 24 markers and 3 is 36 markers.

All up to you so don't commit to too many unless you can keep up.
Not fair to have other make up the slack for you. If you decided you need to withdraw at any point for one reason or another life does happen outside our hobbied addictions please email me right away! If someone wants to be an Angel and make it up to someone who's partner dropped out for one reason or another please contact me so I can keep a list if we need to call on you.
Once you start receiving your markers it'd be nice to post them for everyone to view and to post a comment here for others to view and know that were a successful swap list!

If your interested I'd love to have you join. I'll make some buttons too and certainly if someone wants to help with them, I'd love the help. That'd be great!

Please dont' forget to spread the word, and please place a link on your site as soon as possible to spread the word 1 month to sign ups close which I'm sure will go by evry quickly. Everyone has lots of time to plan and shop for favorite things for some interesting stitch markers
